Littleton Bridge Dedicated to Noga

On October 18, 2000 the new Beacon Street Bridge in Littleton, N.H. was dedicated by Hitchiner and the town of Littleton in memory of John "Jack" Noga, former chief financial officer for Hitchiner Manufacturing Co., Inc. Noga was instrumental in the company choosing Littleton as an ideal location for its waxing and finishing operations.

Jack Noga was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and earned an MBA from New Hampshire College. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, and served until 1975 in the U.S. Naval Reserves.

Noga was an avid sportsman who greatly enjoyed outdoor recreational activities in New Hampshire's north country with his wife Barbara and sons Stephen and Andrew. He was a certified professional ski instructor at Cannon Mountain in the winter and rode off-road motorcycles in the summer. He was also a valued participant in state and local civic activities, serving on the State of New Hampshire Excellence in Education Committee; Malpractice Committee; and as chairman of the Governor's Revenue Reform Committee. On the local level, Noga was a member of the Littleton Hospital board of trustees.

Jack Noga passed away at age 54 on April 9, 1990 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is buried in Easton, N.H. overlooking the White Mountains he so dearly enjoyed. The dedication of this new bridge in his honor is a fitting tribute to a man who gave much to the country, state and town that he loved.

The following words are inscribed on a plaque affixed to the new Littleton bridge:

"This bridge is dedicated to the memory of
John S. Noga
A man of vision and imagination
Whose heart lay north of the notches"
