Hitchiner Manufacturing Co., Inc. was named the 2018Powertrain Supplier of the Year at the FCA US LLC Supplier of the Year awards at MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit on Tuesday, April 24. Hitchiner was one of 16 companies recognized by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles at the annual awards for quality and excellence.
“These 16 suppliers represent the best qualities of the North American automotive supply base,” said Scott Thiele, Chief Purchasing Officer for FCA. “We recognized our partners and thanked them for their collaborative nature, their resiliency in an ever-changing industry and their dedication to innovation.”
Hitchiner and others were selected based on an evaluation of the company’s supplier scorecard performance in 2017 – a rating system that evaluates supplier performance in areas such as quality, delivery, cost, warranty and partnership – and input from FCA senior leadership. Hitchiner Chairman and CEO John H. Morison III said the recognition is due in large part to its dedicated employees.
“Our staff is always striving for the highest quality and are constantly looking for ways to innovate,” said Morison. “This award is well-earned and a testament to the work the company has done to ensure our customers get a trusted, cutting-edge product.”
Hitchiner Manufacturing has long been a trusted high-volume producer of ferrous investment castings for the automotive industry. Using vacuum and air melt capabilities, Hitchiner processes are uniquely well-matched to the high-temperature, high-pressure applications demanded by today's trends toward increased fuel efficiency and tightening environmental controls. Since 2003, Hitchiner has and continues to produce exhaust and intake rocker shaft assemblies for all of FCA’s HEMI engines. Currently, the company delivers over 2,000 engine sets per day from its facility in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
